Oscar Shortlist Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan's 'Dunki'

According to a brief list of the Academy Awards (Oscars), Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's film "Dangal" has secured a place, creating a buzz in the Indian media. This excitement stems from a post by the official Oscars Instagram account, which shared a clip from the 1995 film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," starring Shah Rukh and Kajol, expressing admiration for them. The post includes a short snippet of the song "Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna" from the movie. This has sparked excitement about Shah Rukh's "Dangal," as it is speculated to be submitted for the 96th Academy Awards.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film was released in December last year. "Dangal," with its diverse storytelling, has received mixed reactions from audiences. After "Jersey" and "Pathan," Shah Rukh's fans had hoped that "Dangal" would be a blockbuster. Even though that may not be the case, speculations about the film being submitted for the 96th Academy Awards have been circulating for the past few days.

While there has been no official comment from Shah Rukh or director Hirani on this matter, the Academy Awards recognize films globally and have indicated their acknowledgment of any type of cinema. The buzz suggests that even before completing a month in the theaters, if "Dangal" gets submitted, that information will be made public.

It's worth noting that "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," directed by Aditya Chopra, was released in 1995 and has been continuously shown in a theater at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir for 25 years.
