This election marks the most free and fair since 1975.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared Sunday's parliamentary election as a golden chapter in Bangladesh's history. She commended the election for being free, fair, neutral, and participatory, emphasizing the spontaneous engagement of the people. The victory secured the opportunity for Sheikh Hasina to serve as prime minister for the fourth consecutive term and a fifth term overall.

Expressing gratitude to the Election Commission and acknowledging support from law enforcement agencies and armed forces, Hasina highlighted the conspiracies hatched by the BNP-Jamaat alliance to disrupt the election. She emphasized that the BNP's alignment with "foreign masters" would not allow them to survive in Bangladesh.

Sheikh Hasina asserted that the Awami League has no foreign masters and credited the people of Bangladesh as the party's strength. Characterizing this election as the most free, fair, disciplined, participatory, and competitive since 1975, she emphasized the AL government's ability to conduct elections in a transparent manner.

Addressing her party members, Hasina urged unity for the country's welfare, cautioning against conspiracies aiming to exploit conflicts within the party. She emphasized that the non-participation of certain political parties does not diminish the significance of mass participation.

Recalling historical events, Sheikh Hasina pointed out that the people of Bangladesh rejected injustice, citing the overthrow of the BNP government within a month and a half after the 1996 election.

The AL leader's younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, presented a bouquet to congratulate Sheikh Hasina on the election victory. AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader also addressed the gathering, emphasizing unity and solidarity for the country's well-being. The central executive body of the AL, led by its general secretary, extended their congratulations to the party president with a bouquet.
